Building on this he participated in many local history and archaeological projects over the next twenty three years. His reputation and contribution to these projects and Scottish heritage has been immense and he leaves a substantial legacy.
Ralph’s legacy is contained in the many publications he has contributed to and the mountain of archaeological finds he has processed over the years. His training and supervision, especially with new learners, will be remembered by them as enjoyable, encouraging and always carried out with patience and humour.
